K-pop icon G-Dragon has chosen to confront the controversies surrounding himself and his group head-on.

Appearing on MBC's 'Son Suk-hee's Questions 3' on the 5th, the artist shared his candid thoughts with host Son Suk-hee, offering a refreshing perspective that has garnered significant support.

Cleared of drug allegations that led him to the photo line, G-Dragon is currently enjoying a successful period, being appointed as an official ambassador for APEC and receiving the 'Eungwan Cultural Merit' at the 'Korea Popular Culture & Arts Awards,' solidifying his status as a representative artist of Korea.

Drawing a parallel to the movie 'The Truman Show' to describe his life, G-Dragon confessed, 'During a period of extreme sensitivity, unbelievable things kept happening, and I felt like I was in 'The Truman Show'.' He elaborated on how he has become stronger after returning to reality, resonating with many viewers.

Most notably, he addressed the controversial gesture that became evidence in the drug allegations. 'In 2024, a year before I released 'Power,' I was involved in an incident,' he revealed. 'Even as a victim, I didn't feel the need to complain. But the situation escalated uncontrollably. It was both disheartening and futile. I even contemplated whether returning to music was the right choice, or if I should rest and retire to become a regular person. There was no reason for that, and I'm fortunate it passed, but I spent months questioning if it truly passed or if I was forced out.'

He continued, 'Ultimately, what I can do is express myself through music, and 'Power' is a song written based on that experience. I hope such cases don't happen again.'

Regarding the distinctive gesture, he explained, 'A gesture is a part of me, so I can't think it's strange. I'm like this normally. If I'm told to just talk, it's very uncomfortable. There's so much I can express that words alone cannot convey.'

Furthermore, G-Dragon addressed the controversies involving former BIGBANG members Seungri and T.O.P. 'Whether it's the members' wrongdoings or their private lives, those are separate matters,' he stated. 'As a leader, the hardest moments were when I caused harm to the team or made mistakes.' He added, 'When such situations occur, whether by choice or by force, it's an issue that can harm the entire team, making it the most agonizing.'

Finally, G-Dragon shared his plans for the future, stating, 'I believe a comma is necessary. After the comma, I plan to prepare for a new beginning.' He also mentioned BIGBANG, who will celebrate their 20th anniversary next year, saying, 'As we approach our 20th anniversary, I feel like a 30th anniversary might also be possible, so I'm already thinking ahead.'

Netizens reacted positively to the interview, with comments like 'Thanks for being so honest,' 'This is the G-Dragon we know,' 'The Truman Show analogy really hit home,' and 'Hoping to see him prove himself through music,' expressing support for his new beginning.
