TXT's Yeonjun Unveils First Solo Album 'NO LABELS', Promising Authentic 'Yeonjun Core'
After approximately seven years since his debut, Yeonjun, a member of the group Tomorrow X Together (TXT), is set to release his first solo album, 'NO LABELS: PART 01', today (7th) at 2 PM.
This album aims to showcase Yeonjun in his truest form, shedding any descriptors or labels. The new release features a total of six tracks, including the title song 'Talk to You'. Yeonjun participated in the lyric writing for five of the songs, excluding the English track 'Forever', and also contributed to the composition of the title track and 'Nothin’ ’Bout Me'. Following the significant impact of his solo mixtape 'GGUM' last year, Yeonjun is poised to demonstrate an expanded musical spectrum with this new album.
'Talk to You' is described as a hard rock track that captures the intense attraction and tension arising from it. It boasts an impressive guitar riff, vibrant drum sounds, and Yeonjun's raw vocals, creating a compelling appeal. The performance, in collaboration with a mega crew, is expected to deliver an overwhelming scale and immersion, highlighting Yeonjun's unique presence as he moves between explosive energy and delicate expressions.
In a Q&A with his agency Big Hit Music, Yeonjun shared his feelings about the release: "There was pressure as it's my first album, but my affection for it was even greater, so I actively participated in creating the songs, performances, and various other aspects." He added, "All the tracks have different genres, but I tried to infuse my unique color and feel into every song so that you could feel the consistent musicality within one album. As a result, it became an album that best represents and shows me." Regarding the title track, he said, "I felt like 'Talk to You' was 'my song' the moment I heard it. I thought it best expressed the image I wanted to show."
Speaking about the performance preparation, Yeonjun mentioned, "I had a clear vision of what I wanted to show on stage, so I discussed the overall composition and choreography extensively with the performance directing team." He expressed particular satisfaction with the choreography for 'Coma' and 'Let Me Tell You (feat. Daniela of KATSEYE)', stating, "I felt a sense of accomplishment while directly revising and creating the choreography for 'Coma' and 'Let Me Tell You'. I hope you think 'Yeonjun's gone wild!' when you see my performance."
Reflecting on his collaboration with Daniela of KATSEYE for the featured track, he said, "I've always thought she was an incredibly talented artist, so I was happy to work together. Daniela's participation really brought out the tension and excitement of the song."
Yeonjun also explained his decision to directly reveal key content for the album on his personal social media: "I wanted to show the version of myself that has melted into this album and the process of my work first. I felt this approach was very 'me', and I enjoyed it."
Concluding his message to the global fan community, MOA, Yeonjun said, "You've waited a long time. I am confident this album will make your wait worthwhile. Please feel and enjoy it as it is. Thank you always and I love you!"
Fans are expressing immense excitement for Yeonjun's solo debut, with comments like 'Finally, I'm so excited!', 'Hope Yeonjun makes all the music he wants!', and 'Let's absolutely kill it on stage!' flooding social media. The anticipation for his musical growth is palpable.
