AKMU's Father Reveals Lee Su-hyun's Burnout Trigger: 'Fear of Responsibility After Lee Chan-hyuk's Military Service'
Lee Sung-geun, the father of sibling duo AKMU (Akdong Musician), has shed light on his daughter Lee Su-hyun's period of burnout, sparking concern among fans.
Appearing on the YouTube channel 'Sae-rop-ge-ha-so-seo CBS' on the 5th, Lee Sung-geun discussed the unique bond between his children. He explained that during their homeschooling days, they were each other's sole companions, fostering a need for quick reconciliation over disputes, which contributed to their strong chemistry.
Lee recounted, "Su-hyun's slump began around the time Chan-hyuk enlisted in the military." He admitted they were unaware of the cause at the time. "Su-hyun used to happily follow her brother and sing. But when he was away, she found herself in a position where she had to make all the decisions and take responsibility, which instilled fear in her," he shared.
He believes this led to Su-hyun experiencing burnout. "My child became a celebrity at a young age and received a lot of love, but I think she experienced burnout because she had to grow up in a professional environment working with adults, without getting to experience her youthfulness," he expressed with regret.
Netizens reacted with sympathy, commenting, "How hard it must have been for Su-hyun," "I can't imagine how anxious Lee Su-hyun must have felt alone when Lee Chan-hyuk was in the military," and "I'll continue to support AKMU's activities."
