Bang Min-soo, also known by his stage name C.A.P from the group TEENTOP, has been appointed as the preparatory committee chairman for an idol labor union, aiming for its launch within the year.

A representative from his agency, ModenKorea, confirmed on the 7th that Bang Min-soo would be taking on the leadership role for the union's establishment preparation committee.

Singer Ailee has publicly declared her participation, and it's reported that around 10 other idol members have also expressed their intent to join the initiative.

Seo Min-sun, a research fellow from the Democratic Party's Youth Policy Research Institute, will be serving as the external publicity manager.

The preparatory committee aims to protect the rights and welfare of performing artists, including idols. They submitted an application for establishment to the Seongnam Branch of the Ministry of Employment and Labor in September and are working towards a year-end launch.

Key initiatives include the mandatory establishment of a standard manual for notifying guardians, medical linkage, and managing counseling records in case of distress signals, operating a mental health management manual, and supporting legal actions, deletion requests, and lawsuits against malicious online comments.

Netizens have reacted positively to the news, with comments such as "It's touching that such a movement is finally starting," "Protecting idol rights is a necessary task," and "We support Bang Min-soo!"
