'Reply 1988' Cast Reunites for 10th Anniversary MT: Hyeri and Ryu Jun-yeol Filmed Separately?

Photos from the 10th-anniversary MT (Membership Training) of the beloved drama 'Reply 1988' have been released, stirring nostalgic memories among fans.

On the 6th, Channel Fullmoon (채널 십오야) shared several pictures on social media with the caption, 'Reply 1988 10th Anniversary, See You Soon in Winter.' The images capture cast members including Ra Mi-ran, Kim Sung-kyun, Ryu Hye-young, Lee Min-ji, Lee Dong-hwi, Hyeri, and Park Bo-gum gathering for a meal, their bright smiles radiating warmth.

Previously, OSEN reported exclusively in August that the production company Egg is Coming, led by Director Shin Won-ho, had organized a group MT to commemorate the 10th anniversary of 'Reply 1988.' The event took place in Gangwon Province, with approximately 15 main cast members in attendance. Hyeri's presence was particularly welcomed by fans after a long time.

However, Ryu Jun-yeol was reportedly unable to attend due to his filming schedule for the new Netflix series 'Holler' (들쥐). Following a media report suggesting Ryu Jun-yeol adjusted his schedule to participate in the 10th-anniversary special recording, speculation arose about a potential reunion with his ex-girlfriend Hyeri. OSEN's investigation confirmed that Ryu Jun-yeol only participated in individual opening filming sessions, separate from the group MT.

A broadcast official stated, 'The core of this 10th-anniversary content is the MT site, and Ryu Jun-yeol participated separately. There was no joint filming with Hyeri.'

'Reply 1988,' which first aired in 2015, became a 'national drama' achieving a peak viewership rating of 18.8%. The actors have maintained their close friendship since the show's conclusion, and this anniversary marks another occasion for them to share memories through the MT and special content.

Incidentally, Hyeri and Ryu Jun-yeol, who met through 'Reply 1988,' began dating publicly in 2017 but announced their breakup in November 2023. While their potential reunion for the anniversary project garnered attention, it has been confirmed that their filming was done individually.
