Singer Sung Si-kyung, who is reportedly facing betrayal from a manager he worked with for over a decade, is now making headlines for his benevolent act of personally compensating a victim of a scam impersonating his YouTube channel, 'Meok-ul-tendey' (I'm Eating).

On the 7th, an eatery owner identified as 'A', who featured on 'Meok-ul-tendey', shared a lengthy post on Sung Si-kyung's YouTube channel detailing their experience. A explained that in May, they received a call requesting a 'Meok-ul-tendey' rerun shoot, and were subsequently defrauded of 6.5 million KRW (approximately $5,000 USD) by a scammer demanding payment for expensive whiskey preparations.

After realizing it was a scam and reporting it to the police, A was left devastated. However, Sung Si-kyung's team reached out, taking responsibility for the impersonation of his name and persuading A to accept the reimbursement of the damages. 'I've sent the money. Don't worry too much and cheer up~~' A recalled Sung Si-kyung's message, stating it would remain in their heart forever and helped them quickly regain their footing and return to daily life.

A also mentioned Sung Si-kyung's considerate nature, noting that he always ensures they receive all drinks, even when ordering food for takeout. Furthermore, when the scam incident began to gain media attention, A wanted to publicize Sung Si-kyung's compensation act to help him, but Sung Si-kyung humbly declined, reportedly feeling embarrassed.

Reflecting on the singer, A described him as an "incredibly honest person who doesn't seek recognition, someone who stands tall through their thorough integrity." A expressed deep sympathy for Sung Si-kyung, acknowledging the pain he must be experiencing, and hoped that positive news would now spread about him. "For me, Sung Si-kyung is truly an inspiration," A concluded, wishing him strength to overcome this ordeal and return healthy to comfort and inspire many.

Earlier, on the 3rd, Sung Si-kyung's agency, SK Jaewon, confirmed that a former manager, who had worked with the singer for nearly 20 years, had committed acts that breached the company's trust. Following an internal investigation, the employee was dismissed. The situation has led Sung Si-kyung to temporarily halt the release of new videos on his 'Meok-ul-tendey' YouTube channel and is also contemplating the feasibility of his year-end concerts.

Korean netizens have expressed a mix of sympathy for Sung Si-kyung's personal struggles and admiration for his generosity.
