Kim Yoo-jung's Warm Gesture Towards Child Actor in 'Dear X' Sparks Admiration
Actress Kim Yoo-jung is receiving praise for her heartwarming actions towards a young co-star on the set of the TVING original drama 'Dear X'.
Ki So-yu, the child actress who played a younger version of Kim Yoo-jung's character, was recently featured on her mother's social media, where the mother shared anecdotes highlighting Kim Yoo-jung's thoughtful consideration and the positive atmosphere on set.
"Actress Kim Yoo-jung is 10,000 times prettier in person than in photos," wrote Ki So-yu's mother, adding, "I heard the director was very worried about So-yu before filming. Kim Yoo-jung personally arranged for a counselor and repeatedly expressed concern for So-yu's performance during readings."
She continued, "At the reading after-party, she approached us with the sweetest gaze, saying, 'If you ever face any difficulties, please contact me,' and took great care of us. On her first day of filming, she even came to the set in person to cheer So-yu on. She was so apologetic on days when So-yu had difficult scenes and she couldn't be there due to her schedule. Her genuine care for the child actor was truly touching."
Ki So-yu's mother concluded, "There was so much to learn from Actress Kim Yoo-jung. I was so happy to be able to portray her younger self. I truly hope we can work together again in a future project."
'Dear X' is a crime thriller centered on brutal incidents and psychological portrayal, rated for 19+ audiences. Given the intense and violent nature of many scenes, the production team implemented meticulous on-site management to ensure the emotional well-being of the child actors. Kim Yoo-jung, as a senior actress and a former child star herself, has been lauded as a 'wannabe actor' both on and off set for her considerate approach to her junior.
'Dear X' is available for streaming on TVING, with new episodes released every Thursday.
