(G)I-DLE's Miyeon Achieves Career High with Solo Comeback 'MY, Lover', Dominating Domestic and International Charts
Miyeon, a member of the popular K-pop group (G)I-DLE, has announced her successful return as a solo artist.
Following the release of her second mini-album 'MY, Lover' on the 3rd, Miyeon has been actively promoting across music shows, festivals, and variety programs.
On the day of the release, Miyeon met with fans at a showcase, igniting the venue with a live performance that rivaled a full concert. Without a separate MC, she presented all tracks from the album, marking the official start of her solo activities.
'MY, Lover' surpassed 200,000 copies in first-week sales (initial sales), setting a new 'career high' for Miyeon. This figure more than doubles the sales of her first mini-album 'MY,' which recorded approximately 99,000 copies, reflecting the high expectations and enthusiastic response towards Miyeon.
She has also achieved remarkable success on music charts. The title track 'Say My Name' immediately climbed to the number one spot on the real-time chart of Bugs, a domestic music site, and secured a top position on major charts like Melon. Furthermore, it ranked at the top of the TME (Tencent Music Entertainment) Korean chart in China.
The second mini-album 'MY, Lover' also hit number one on major Chinese music platforms QQ Music and Kugou Music. It garnered attention on domestic and international charts, appearing on the iTunes Top Albums chart in 18 regions and the Apple Music chart in 10 regions.
Miyeon received praise for her emotional and immersive live performances on music shows such as KBS2's 'Music Bank' and SBS's 'Inkigayo.' On the '2025 Incheon Airport Sky Festival' on the 9th, she captivated the audience as both an MC and performer, showcasing her stable hosting skills honed through various award ceremonies and live broadcasts, alongside her outstanding live vocals.
She further showcased her entertainment prowess on various variety shows, including JTBC's 'Knowing Bros,' KBS2's 'Boss in the Mirror,' 'Mr. House Husband 2,' and SBS's 'Running Man.' Her witty remarks on radio shows like KBS Cool FM's 'Lee Eunji's Music Plaza,' MBC FM4U's 'Close Friend Lee Hyun,' and SBS Power FM's 'Wendy's Young Street' and 'Park So Hyun's Love Game' also charmed listeners.
Miyeon is set to continue her active broadcast schedule with upcoming appearances on SBS Power FM's 'Cultwo Show' on the 11th and tvN's 'Sixth Sense: City Tour 2' on the 13th.
Netizens are buzzing with excitement, commenting things like 'Miyeon's solo is truly amazing!', 'As expected, Miyeon's live vocals are trustworthy,' 'I was just amazed watching her music show performances,' and 'She seems to be getting prettier and more skilled.' The overwhelming support celebrates her successful comeback.
