Rookie boy group AM8IC has officially launched their career.

The five-member group, consisting of SAHO, MINGKAI, CHUNGYI, ROUX, and CHEN, all of Chinese nationality, held a media showcase for their debut EP ‘LUKOIE’ at the Sangam MBC Open Hall in Seoul on the afternoon of October 10th.

AM8IC members, who grew up inspired by K-pop artists, mentioned and performed songs from senior groups like BTS, EXO, SEVENTEEN, Stray Kids, and ENHYPEN during the event. SAHO shared, "All five of us loved K-pop since we were young; it was our dream, and that's when we decided we wanted to become K-pop artists." He added, "We are so happy to be K-pop singers."

"We want to meet fans worldwide and challenge ourselves in various fields in the future," he expressed his aspirations.

Their agency, TOB Entertainment, is led by CEO Yoon Beom-no, a Korean choreographer who previously worked extensively in China. He has mentored over 800 trainees across 50 Chinese agencies for seven years and participated in choreography for survival shows on platforms like IQIYI and TENCENT. Notably, he produced debut members for the Chinese version of 'Produce 101', 'Chuang 2020' (formerly 'Produce Camp 2020'), and launched a winner in a hip-hop survival show, the Chinese equivalent of 'Unpretty Rapstar'. His expertise in localizing artists and differentiated planning was recognized through the launch of the Chinese girl group FANXY RED.

The group name AM8IC is a combination of 'AMBI-' (meaning bidirectional) and 'CONNECT', signifying that lost boys grow and move towards salvation through genuine connection with each other.

The debut album ‘LUKOIE’ is based on a narrative where the five boys connect and embark on a journey towards a true world within a false dream world created by 'LUKOIE', a spider-shaped dream god. The title track, ‘Link Up’, features a bossa nova guitar riff and UK garage sounds, capturing the exhilarating first encounter of the five boys. SAHO described it as "an important song on our debut album," adding, "It's a song that delivers AM8IC's unique energy through the combination of a rhythmic beat and warm melody."

Netizens are showing interest, commenting things like, 'It's exciting to see if a group composed entirely of Chinese members can successfully establish themselves in the K-pop market,' 'The concept of their debut album is unique and intriguing,' and 'It's promising to see them looking up to senior K-pop groups; their future growth is anticipated.'
