Paul Kim Gears Up for 'Veiled Musician' Judging with Determination: 'Korea Needs to Try Harder'

The highly anticipated vocal competition project 'Veiled Musician,' set to be the first-ever national vocal showdown, is set to premiere on Netflix on the 12th.

'Veiled Musician' promises a fair and unique audition experience, evaluating contestants solely on their voice and musicality, with participants performing behind a veil, only their upper bodies visible as silhouettes. Ahead of the show, judge Paul Kim expressed his resolve after witnessing the formidable talents from various Asian countries. He remarked, 'It makes me think that Korea will need to put in more effort,' adding, 'We, as judges, really need to do a good job.' Having arrived first at the filming site, he marveled at the project's scale, stating, 'The scale is grand and impressive.'

Fellow judges Shin Yong-jae, Ailee, BOL4, MONSTA X's Kihyun, and KISS OF LIFE's Belle also shared their excitement. BOL4, making their debut as judges, expressed, 'It feels like a dream,' emphasizing that 'distinct individuality is the evaluation criterion.' Kihyun shared his judging perspective, noting, 'No matter how hidden they are, tension will naturally arise. I want to focus on how well they hide mistakes and how they carry a song to the end.'

Hosted by Choi Daniel, with Paul Kim, Ailee, Shin Yong-jae, Kihyun, BOL4, and Belle leading the Korean judging panel, 'Veiled Musician' will air its first episode on Netflix on the 12th.
