Former LABOUM Member Yulhee Tackles Second Marathon Challenge on 'Gotta Run' in Sydney
Yulhee, formerly of girl group LABOUM, has embarked on her second marathon journey, inspired by her three children.
The latest episode of MBN's entertainment show 'Gotta Run in Sydney,' broadcast on the 10th, followed the participation of Lee Jang-jun, Yulhee, Sleepy, and Yang Se-hyung in the 'Sydney Marathon,' one of the world's seven major marathons.
Lee Jang-jun, the MVP of Season 1, had already secured his spot in the 'Sydney Marathon' as a special prize. However, Yulhee's addition as a new member just before their departure drew significant attention.
Recommended by Lee Young-pyo, Yulhee expressed her gratitude, stating, 'I didn't know at first, but Division Leader Young-pyo chose me.' Lee Young-pyo explained his reasoning: 'She gave so much inspiration to many people with her never-give-up passion. Seeing her continuously grow, I thought she deserved this opportunity.'
Yulhee shared her determination, saying, 'I couldn't sleep last night. I'm here with the mindset to show you the 'Gunsan Yulhee' spirit.' She vowed, 'Even if it takes a long time, I will finish.'
Notably, Yulhee cited her children as the primary motivation for her return to marathon running. 'My babies watch me run. They ask about it every time we meet, and they get so happy when I show them my medals, so I want to show them more,' she confessed, revealing her deep affection for them.
In 2018, Yulhee married Choi Min-hwan and has one son and twin daughters. However, the couple announced their divorce in December 2023 after five years of marriage. Yulhee has since filed for adjustments to parental rights and custody, as well as alimony and division of assets, with Choi Min-hwan. She is currently meeting her children through scheduled visitation.
