‘Taxi Driver 3’ Writer Oh Sang-ho Expresses ‘Infinite Trust’ in Actor Lee Je-hoon: “He's the Solid Foundation, I Relied on Him Heavily”

Oh Sang-ho, the writer of SBS’s upcoming Friday-Saturday drama ‘Taxi Driver 3’, shared his thoughts on penning the third season and revealed his deep trust in actor Lee Je-hoon.

Set to premiere on the 21st, ‘Taxi Driver 3’ is based on a popular webtoon and follows the story of Rainbow Taxi, a clandestine taxi company, and its driver Kim Do-gi, who enacts private revenge for victims denied justice by the law. Following the immense success of previous seasons, anticipation is high for this new installment.

Writer Oh expressed his gratitude, stating, “It’s meaningful to greet Season 3 with the Rainbow Taxi crew as always. In the ever-changing Korean drama market, I feel both pride and responsibility for reaching a third season.”

He highlighted his writing approach: “I strived to show new changes within familiarity.” He further elaborated, “The keyword for Season 3 seems to be ‘healing’. We aimed to portray how pain and scars that seemed unhealable begin to mend, and how they, in turn, offer comfort to others.”

Oh, often called the father of the ‘Taxi Driver’ universe, also showed affection for the main cast. He praised Lee Je-hoon, who plays Kim Do-gi, saying, “From Season 1 until now, Lee Je-hoon, as Kim Do-gi wearing the same worn-out jumper, has been the solid foundation. His acting makes anything possible, and I relied on him heavily while working on Season 3. He's someone I'm personally very grateful for, and I hope he stays healthy.”

Regarding director Kang Bo-seung, Oh commented, “Even though it’s his directorial debut, I often felt like I was working with a veteran, given his unique visual sense.”
