J.Y. Park, the renowned singer and producer, made a groundbreaking move by revealing his brand-new song for the first time ever on a deserted island during the latest episode of MBC's 'If You Rest, You'll Be Lucky' (tentative title).

The 72nd episode, aired on the 10th, featured J.Y. Park's adventurous journey on a deserted island alongside his long-time friends, god members Park Joon-hyung, Son Ho-young, and Kim Tae-woo, as well as singer Sunmi. Viewers were captivated by his determination as he attempted sea foraging and cooking for the first time, culminating in an unexpected island concert. The broadcast resonated with audiences, topping the charts as the number one variety show for Monday nights, according to Nielsen Korea's nationwide household and 2049 viewership ratings.

J.Y. Park, known as a genius producer behind numerous hit artists and recently appointed co-chair of the Presidential Committee on Cultural Exchange, landed on the island with his close friend of 30 years, Park Joon-hyung. He revealed his meticulous planning, stating, "I've mapped out the K-pop roadmap for the next five years," and surprisingly confessed, "I've already bought my burial plot."

His ambitious plan for the island was a 'Deserted Island Concert.' He even brought his keyboard and speakers, impressing even Park Joon-hyung with his dedication. However, before the concert, he faced numerous challenges, including sea foraging and cooking.

Known for his love of seafood, J.Y. Park eagerly embarked on his first sea foraging adventure. Despite showcasing his swimming skills in a wetsuit, he struggled to catch any seafood and had to rely on Park Joon-hyung for guidance. Park Joon-hyung, who had previously experienced J.Y. Park's perfectionist directing, playfully turned the tables, becoming the 'island producer.' After some mentoring, J.Y. Park successfully caught an abalone, only to have to release it due to the fishing ban season. Nevertheless, he later caught whelks and octopuses, marking a successful debut.

He also had the chance to savor sea cucumbers, a delicacy he longed to eat. Despite admitting he had never cooked before, and Park Joon-hyung also being a novice, they made a mistake by discarding the valuable sea cucumber innards. However, they managed to prepare it with seasoned oil and enjoyed their self-caught meal. J.Y. Park, who even chewed and ate the typically discarded sea cucumber mouthparts, declared it "the best sea cucumber I've ever eaten."

The duo then attempted to make spicy mixed noodles. J.Y. Park, making mistakes from cutting the noodles to boiling them, continuously declared his dish "perfect" as he enjoyed it. He recalled his past venture of opening a Korean restaurant in New York, boasting, "All the hot Korean restaurants in New York now are alumni of my restaurant." When Park Joon-hyung pointed out, "The important thing is, you failed, and they succeeded," J.Y. Park quipped, "I was just two steps ahead," referencing Wonder Girls' U.S. debut and proving he's a man ahead of his time.

Later, Son Ho-young, Kim Tae-woo, and Sunmi joined them, and they returned with plenty of blue crabs. Before focusing on cooking, J.Y. Park had one more thing prepared: the island concert. Son Ho-young, Kim Tae-woo, and Sunmi were surprised to learn they also had to perform on the same day.

As they reunited after a while, rehearsals were shaky, raising concerns for the actual performance. J.Y. Park, in particular, had to showcase his new song, 'Happy Hour (Leaving Work Road)'. The song, not yet recorded or arranged at the time of filming, was to be performed live for the first time, making him visibly nervous.

However, the performance of 'Happy Hour,' set against the backdrop of the beautiful deserted island scenery, was pure healing. J.Y. Park's insistence on the island concert proved right, as he stated, "The deserted island, more beautiful than any stage set, is the perfect location for a healing performance." His new song performance heightened anticipation for the main stage with his guests.

The preview at the end of the broadcast revealed J.Y. Park preparing to cook for his guests and the unprecedented deserted island concert, further raising viewers' expectations. 'If You Rest, You'll Be Lucky' airs every Monday at 9 PM KST.

Netizens were impressed by J.Y. Park's daring attempt to debut a new song on a deserted island. Comments included, "A new song showcase on a deserted island, that's classic JYP!", "It's fun watching J.Y. Park perform", and "It feels like a trip down memory lane seeing him with the god members." His adventurous spirit garnered widespread support.
