Actress Lee Na-young is set to captivate audiences with her upcoming appearance in the short film 'Baby Doe'.

On the 11th, the 'Baby Doe' production team announced Lee's participation, generating significant anticipation for the project. The film delves into profound themes of human dignity and the importance of identity, exploring the stories of children who lost their names and lived as ghosts due to systemic erasure.

In 'Baby Doe,' Lee Na-young will portray two contrasting characters: Shepherd, the leader of the 'Yellow Lambs' child crime syndicate, implicated as the mastermind behind serial disappearances, and Jin-i, a detective relentlessly pursuing her. This marks her challenge in playing a dual role, depicting the stark divergence between Shepherd, who resists from outside the system, and Jin-i, who grapples with dilemmas within it. The film is expected to vividly illustrate how a single human can fracture into different beings based on environment and choices.

Notably, the collaboration with director Cho Hee-soo, acclaimed for his visually striking and original works, is a major point of interest. Director Cho expressed his trust in Lee, stating, "I believed only an actor brave enough to deconstruct their identity could bridge the gap between these two characters." He recalled his intuition being confirmed when Lee, during their first meeting, asked him to "make her the face of the unknown." He added, "It had to be Lee Na-young."

Lee Na-young also shared her enthusiasm, commenting, "I've always had a keen interest in short and independent films. Upon receiving the script, I decided to participate without hesitation. It was a deeply meaningful and enjoyable project as an actor."

'Baby Doe' is being produced with support from the Korea Creative Content Agency's '2025 Content Creative Talent Incubation Program Commercialization Support' project, with the Korean Film Producers Association serving as the platform institution. The film is being prepared for submission to domestic and international film festivals in 2026.

Lee Na-young married actor Won Bin in 2015 and they have one son. Despite marriage and motherhood, she has continued her active acting career across dramas and films. Meanwhile, her husband, Won Bin, has not taken on any acting projects since the 2010 film 'The Man from Nowhere,' a fact that continues to leave fans longing for his return.

Netizens are buzzing with excitement over Lee Na-young's new role. Comments include, "Lee Na-young is always a must-watch actress! A dual role already has me hooked!", "A collaboration with Director Cho Hee-soo sounds incredibly fresh and promising!", and "Hope to see Won Bin back on screen soon too."
