'Veiled Musician' Premieres on Netflix, Focusing Solely on Vocal Prowess
The global vocal project 'Veiled Musician' has finally lifted the curtain, officially premiering on Netflix on the 12th to kick off its grand journey.
'Veiled Musician' is a large-scale vocal audition held simultaneously across nine Asian countries, including South Korea, Japan, China, Thailand, Vietnam, the Philippines, Mongolia, Laos, and Indonesia. After intense survival rounds in each nation, the top three contestants from each country will gather in January for the 'Veiled Cup' to determine the ultimate vocal champion in the first-ever national vocal team competition.
This audition distinguishes itself with a groundbreaking format that strictly focuses on voice alone. Participants perform behind a veil, with only their silhouettes visible, and conversations before and after their stages are severely limited. Even well-known musicians could potentially remain incognito until the very end, ensuring a fair competition judged purely on musical talent.
The winner of 'Veiled Musician' will receive an opportunity for a management contract with Dreamus Company. The 'Veiled Cup' champion will gain benefits such as an Asian tour, appearances on SBS's 'Inkigayo,' and participation in drama OSTs.
The judging panel and production team boast impressive credentials. Actor and popular entertainer Choi Daniel will serve as the MC, alongside respected vocalists like Paul Kim, Ailee, and Shin Yong-jae as judges and mentors. The show will also feature fresh perspectives from Monsta X's Kihyun, BOL4, and the '19-year-old genius composer' Belle from KISS OF LIFE.
'Veiled Musician' is produced by SBS Prism Studio, planned by Canvas, and partnered with Spotify. It will be released weekly on Wednesdays for eight weeks on Netflix, with the 'Veiled Cup' slated for broadcast on SBS in January.
Netizens are expressing high anticipation for the show's premiere. Comments like "Looking for a faceless genius vocalist?", "So excited to see a competition focused purely on skill", and "Please don't spoil who will appear!" highlight the public's interest and curiosity in discovering truly talented vocalists.
