HyunA Collapses on Stage Amid 'Waterbomb 2025 Macau', Faces Malicious Comments
Singer HyunA has sparked health concerns after collapsing during a performance at 'Waterbomb 2025 Macau' on September 9th. The incident, captured on video and shared widely online, showed the artist suddenly falling unconscious during her song 'Bubble Pop!'.
Fellow dancers and staff rushed to her aid, escorting her off stage. Following the event, HyunA took to her social media to apologize to her fans, expressing regret for not being able to show a better performance and admitting she had no memory of the incident.
"I'm truly, truly sorry. I wanted to show you a good performance, but I feel like I wasn't professional. Honestly, I don't remember anything and kept thinking about it," she wrote. She further apologized to the Macau fans who paid to see her, promising to work on her stamina and be more diligent. She concluded by reassuring fans, "I'm really okay. Don't worry about me!"
However, despite her apology, some netizens have resorted to malicious comments, with some speculating it was a staged event. Others have cruelly mocked the security guard who carried her off stage. This backlash comes after recent discussions about HyunA's noticeable weight loss and past diagnoses of vasovagal syncope, a condition where sudden drops in heart rate and blood pressure cause fainting.
HyunA had previously revealed she was diagnosed with vasovagal syncope in 2020, leading to a temporary hiatus. The condition is often triggered by stress, fatigue, drastic weight loss, or dehydration. At the time, she confessed, "I wanted to have a pretty body to do well on stage, but I kept collapsing. I fainted 12 times in a month."
Fans expressed deep concern, commenting: "I'm so worried, I hope she recovers quickly." and "Cheer up, HyunA! We're always rooting for you." Many also urged her not to be further distressed by the malicious comments, stating, "I hope the cyberbullies don't make you feel worse."
