Park Mi-young, the mother of SEVENTEEN member Hoshi (real name Kwon Soon-young), has become a member of the Honor Society, a group of high-value donors organized by the Korea Social Welfare Community Chest of Love (Chest). This marks the continuation of a strong philanthropic tradition within the family.

The Chest announced on the 11th, during the '2025 Honor Society Member's Day' event, that Park Mi-young was registered as the 3729th member of the Honor Society. This follows Hoshi's own induction as an Honor Society member in 2021 and his father, Kwon Hyuk-doo's, joining earlier this year. The Hoshi family is now recognized as a 'Family Honor' donor group.

Additionally, the event celebrated new members of the 'Honor Society Opulus,' a special group for donors contributing over 1 billion KRW. Han Ju-sik, chairman of Jisahn Group, his wife Gong Bong-ae, and their children Han Jae-seung and Han Jae-hyun, collectively pledged over 1.04 billion KRW, becoming an 'Opulus Family Honor' unit. They join Han Ju-sik, who was already a member.

Despite economic challenges, the culture of voluntary high-value individual donations continues to grow. The increasing number of 'Family Honor' members, now accounting for 28% of all Honor Society members (464 families), adds a heartwarming dimension to these charitable efforts.

Netizens have reacted positively to the news of Hoshi's mother joining the Honor Society, with comments such as 'Hoshi's family is truly amazing,' 'As expected from an idol spreading good influence,' and 'It's heartwarming to see the whole family participating in donations.'
