Kang Moon-kyung's National Tour 'THE START' Seoul Concert Sells Out in 20 Minutes, Proving 'Trot Sensation' Status
Trot sensation Kang Moon-kyung has proven her explosive popularity by selling out all tickets for the Seoul leg of her national tour concert 'THE START' in just 20 minutes.
The concert, scheduled for December 27th and 28th at Sejong University's Daehan Hall in Seoul, saw tickets open on November 11th at 11 AM through official ticket vendor NOLticket. The demand was so high that the ticketing website experienced delays due to the overwhelming number of fans trying to secure seats.
This Seoul performance marks the beginning of Kang Moon-kyung's extensive national tour, which will continue in cities including Ulsan, Gwangju, Jeonju, Daegu, Jeju, Busan, and Suwon. It signifies the start of her major concert tour series.
A major point of excitement is the premiere of three new songs, featuring collaborations with trot legends Choi Baek-ho and Kim Jung-ho. Kang Moon-kyung's agency stated, "We will be unveiling three songs for the first time at this concert: one personally given by Mr. Choi Baek-ho, another arranged by Mr. Kim Ki-pyo with participation from Mr. Na Hoon-a's band members, and a piece composed by Mr. Kim Jung-ho." They added, "We are preparing a stage that encapsulates both the depth and emotion of trot."
Known as the 'Goddess of Ppong' after winning first place on SBS's 'Trot God Has Arrived 2,' Kang Moon-kyung is a powerhouse vocalist with a solid background in Pansori. Her powerful vocal techniques and impressive high notes have earned her the title 'singer's singer.' She has solidified her status as a cross-generational trot star through various programs like MBN's 'Miss Trot 3' (Korean title: 'Hyunyeok-gawang 2'), 'Han-Il Top Ten Show,' and 'Han-Il Gawangjeon.'
CEO Seo Ju-kyung, who discovered Kang Moon-kyung, commented on her broad appeal: "Her fanbase is diverse, encompassing all ages and genders. Her concerts mobilize an average of 12 to 14 'magenta buses' nationwide, showcasing her powerful fandom." He also noted, "The current fan club membership has rapidly grown to 21,600 members," and expressed his deep gratitude to the fans supporting her.
Following the rapid sell-out of her Seoul concert tickets, Korean netizens are buzzing with excitement. Comments like 'As expected, Kang Moon-kyung is always worth the wait,' 'If Seoul is sold out, other cities will be too,' and 'Can't wait to hear the new songs live!' highlight the immense anticipation for her tour.
