Sydney Sweeney Reveals Strict 13kg Weight Loss Method for Upcoming Boxing Film 'Christy'
Hollywood actress Sydney Sweeney has revealed the intense methods behind her dramatic 13kg (approximately 30 pounds) weight loss achieved in under two months for her role in the upcoming boxing film 'Christy'.
In a recent interview with People magazine, Sweeney detailed her 'rigorous' approach to shedding the pounds.
She explained that to gain weight for the character, she initially consumed a significant amount of food. For the subsequent weight loss, she stopped exercising and cut out protein shakes she had been consuming for other projects. This led to a rapid decrease in muscle mass.
"(Protein) goes away before fat. So I lost weight in two weeks just from that," Sweeney stated. She also mentioned, "I was taking a lot of creatine for it (the role), which makes you bloat. So I cut all of that out after filming."
She further elaborated that the remaining weight loss was achieved through a "very clean diet and a lot of cardio." Sweeney emphasized the need for stricter discipline due to the tight schedule, with only seven weeks remaining until filming for 'The Handmaid's Tale' and 'Euphoria' Season 3, hinting this might be a one-time transformation for her career.
Last year, Sweeney's altered appearance on the set of 'Christy' garnered significant attention. Despite facing some online mockery for her weight change, she powerfully responded with an impressive video, showcasing her dedication.
Fans reacted with awe and support, commenting, 'Truly amazing,' 'If you set your mind to it, anything is possible,' and 'How far can she go for her acting?'
