Paul Kim Reveals Wife Asked for Half of 'Meeting You' Royalties? Honest Talk Shocks 'Single Men'
Singer Paul Kim showcased his honest and witty speaking skills, captivating viewers on a Tuesday night.
On the SBS variety show ‘Single Men’ (돌싱포맨), which aired on the 10th, guests included comedian Hong Hyun-hee, interior designer Jason (Jasson), comedian Shin Gireu, and singer Paul Kim, who shared candid stories.
During the broadcast, host Lee Sang-min asked Paul Kim a question related to his wife. He inquired, "Did your wife ever ask for half of the royalties from your song 'Meeting You'?" Paul Kim responded humorously, leaving the studio in laughter.
"We dated for nine years before getting married," Paul Kim explained. "A few months after meeting my wife, I was invited to a festival for the first time, and that's when I released the song 'Meeting You'. So, my wife often says, 'I became successful because of you.'"
Furthermore, Paul Kim confessed that he doesn't often voice his opinions in front of his wife. When Lee Sang-min asked, "I heard you only have two things you can say to your wife," Paul Kim replied, "That's right. Paul Kim also revealed that he doesn't sing congratulatory songs for anyone other than close friends. He explained that singing wedding 축가 (chukga - congratulatory song) can be nerve-wracking, so he decided to only perform for people he's very close to.
However, it was revealed that he sang his representative hit song at the wedding of top stars Hyun Bin and Son Ye-jin, surprising everyone. Regarding this, Paul Kim honestly admitted, "To be honest, I really wanted to attend their wedding. It was a private ceremony, so opportunities like that are rare."
