Singer Ivy Mourns Deceased Best Friend: 'Sorry I Couldn't Keep My Promise... I'll Protect Raon'
Singer and musical actress Ivy has posted a heartfelt tribute to her late best friend, expressing her deep longing and sorrow.
On November 11th, Ivy shared videos and photos taken with her friend on her social media, accompanied by a lengthy message. The released pictures show Ivy and her friend sitting side-by-side, smiling warmly, a sight that tugs at the heartstrings.
She affectionately referred to the deceased as "My dear friend Jian-unnie," revealing her profound affection. "She loved pink, loved to chat, and loved to go out even more than I did. She was the most energetic person in the world," Ivy reminisced about their cherished memories.
"I still remember the day she called me crying from America after her initial cancer diagnosis," Ivy shared, her voice filled with regret. "I promised her that I would help her get better, but I couldn't keep that promise. I'm so sorry."
Ivy recalled her friend's remarkable resilience: "She was so cheerful and vibrant that people would ask, 'Is she really a cancer patient?' She endured for years with such strength. There were times she was so high on strong painkillers that she couldn't even remember the soybean paste stew and rice I made for her."
Concluding her message, she vowed, "I will protect Raon, her one and only son, no matter what. I will also take good care of her beloved parents and brother-in-law. I believe she is watching over us from heaven, smiling without any terrible pain."
"My sister, who had such a pure and kind heart. I miss you so much. I love you. Goodbye, unnie," Ivy wrote, ending her touching tribute. Ivy debuted in 2005 with her first album 'My Sweet And Free Day' and has released numerous hit songs like 'I'll Be There' and 'The Sonata of Temptation'. She is currently performing in the musical 'Red Book'.
Korean netizens offered words of comfort and condolences, with comments like, "How heartbroken Ivy must be," "We pray for the deceased's soul and offer our deepest sympathies to those left behind," and "Please protect Raon. May her friend rest peacefully in heaven."
