Veteran actor Oh Young-soo, known for his role in "Squid Game," has been acquitted of sexual harassment charges in his appeal trial. The Seoul High Court, Criminal Division 6, overturned the initial ruling of an 8-month prison sentence suspended for two years.

The court stated that while the victim reluctantly agreed to the hug, her consent to the act itself was present. It also noted the possibility of memory distortion over time and emphasized that any reasonable doubt should favor the defendant.

The judges concluded that the victim's testimony alone was insufficient to prove guilt, and Oh's apology did not necessarily indicate an admission of sexual harassment.

Following the verdict, Oh expressed gratitude for the court's decision. However, the victim and women's rights groups vehemently condemned the ruling, calling it "deplorable" and a silencing of the victim's voice.

International media outlets, including the BBC and Variety, have reported on the case, highlighting the controversy and the new turn of events for Oh's career, which had been previously shadowed by the allegations since the Golden Globe win.

Korean netizens expressed shock and sympathy for the victim, with comments like 'This outcome is truly devastating,' and 'How must the victim feel now?' Many are hoping for a more just resolution in the future.
