Actress Han Hyo-joo will guide viewers through the fascinating history of medicine as the narrator for KBS's grand project, 'Transhuman,' specifically the first part, 'Cyborg.'

The premiere episode, airing tonight (the 12th), will delve into the stories of Andreas Vesalius, the pioneer of modern anatomy in the 1500s. Vesalius laid the foundation for anatomy with his seminal work, 'Fabrica,' featuring over 300 detailed illustrations of the human body. His anatomy lectures at the University of Padua were reportedly conducted like performances, with music played to soothe the spirit from the uppermost tiers while nobles and students filled the lower levels to avoid the smell of cadavers.

As the narrator, Han Hyo-joo will pose the intriguing question, "Since when did humanity begin to consider that the human body could be replaced by machines?" sparking viewers' curiosity. The episode will also highlight contemporary medical advancements. It features the story of Professor Hugh Herr from MIT, who, after losing his legs below the knee in an accident, overcame his challenges and developed new prosthetic technologies.

Dr. Matthew Cart, featured in 'Transhuman,' explained the significance of modern prosthetics: "300 years ago, or even 2,000 years ago, standard amputation only required 'stable closure.' But now, the amputated part must function as a conduit for control signals, feedback, and sensory connections," detailing how amputated limbs have become gateways for cutting-edge technology.

Han Hyo-joo expressed her profound impression of the program, stating, "When I read the final page of the script, I felt a thrill run through my entire body." The first episode airs tonight at 10 PM on KBS 1TV.

Fans are expressing excitement over Han Hyo-joo's narration, with comments like, "I'm already looking forward to Han Hyo-joo's voice," "The evolution of cyborg technology seems fascinating," and "The combination of the human body and machines stimulates my imagination." The anticipation for the first broadcast is high.
