NewJeans' Future Uncertain as Haerin & Hyein Return to ADOR; Minji, Hanni, Danielle's Next Moves Under Scrutiny
With Haerin and Hyein's surprise return to agency ADOR, attention is now focused on the future endeavors of the remaining NewJeans members: Minji, Hanni, and Danielle.
Following the exclusive contract dispute, the NewJeans members had virtually halted official activities and kept a low profile. However, they have consistently maintained communication with their fandom, 'Bunnies.'
Notably, on May 7th, Minji released a lengthy message through the SNS account opened by NewJeans after the dispute with ADOR, coinciding with her birthday. "I have so much I want to say, but my mind is complicated and I can't seem to organize my thoughts well," Minji shared. "I just hope that I, my members, and Bunnies can be happy."
She continued, "Happiness can be said to be the biggest goal in my life. I think pursuing what I love, only looking at my own happiness, might seem foolish. But I want my today and my tomorrow to be happy. The same goes for Bunnies' days."
Minji also added, "Isn't it too harsh on oneself to give up present happiness for future happiness? Especially for a future that might not come, or perhaps might never come?"
She particularly emphasized, "I really miss the time when we came together with good music and shared our feelings, but I'm always more expectant of what's ahead. We haven't stopped here, and we won't stop," she declared.
"We may seem stopped or stagnant, but I believe we are definitely becoming deeper," Minji stated. "I hope that today with Bunnies, and the tomorrow we will share, we can all be happy."
Her surprise visit to a birthday cafe organized by fans and her interaction with them at the event became a hot topic at the time.
Prior to this, in April, photos of Hanni and Minji enjoying a trip in Rome, Italy, garnered attention. Danielle has also been frequently spotted participating in running crews with acquaintances like singer Sean, and recently, her participation in a marathon made headlines.
However, with Haerin and Hyein's announcement to return to ADOR, speculations are rife that their opinions may differ from the other three members. If the three members do not return to ADOR, they would inevitably continue the exclusive contract dispute. The legal representatives for the NewJeans members had immediately announced their intention to appeal after ADOR won the first trial regarding the exclusive contract lawsuit.
Korean netizens are expressing mixed reactions, with many commenting, "Now that Haerin and Hyein are back, we hope the remaining members join soon for a full NewJeans comeback," and "We just hope there's no disagreement among the members." Others are sending support, saying, "Whatever decision is made, we hope the members' happiness is the top priority."
