Heo Kyung-hwan Opens Up About Not Attending John Park's Wedding: 'I Didn't Receive an Invitation'

On the tvN STORY variety show 'What to Do by Leaving It', Heo Kyung-hwan revealed the behind-the-scenes story of why he couldn't attend singer John Park's wedding.

When MC Lee Young-ja brought up that Chef Lee Yeon-bok had attended John Park's wedding, Heo Kyung-hwan appeared flustered and tried to stop the conversation, sparking curiosity.

John Park explained, "My wedding wasn't a large-scale event. Chef Lee Yeon-bok and I would meet about once a year when I visited his restaurant with my family. I hadn't been in much contact with Heo Kyung-hwan since our show 'Can't Be Tasted Locally'." He clarified that Chef Lee Yeon-bok was the only cast member from their show who was invited. Lee Young-ja then mentioned, "I heard Heo Kyung-hwan didn't go to John Park's wedding," bringing up rumors of discord.

Heo Kyung-hwan shared, "You could say I couldn't go. The important thing is that I found out through the news. I understood that it's possible to be busy and unable to attend, or that it could have been a small event. But on the day of the wedding, Chef Lee Yeon-bok called me and asked, 'Are you going to John Park's wedding? When are you going?'"

When Chef Lee Yeon-bok said he naturally assumed Heo Kyung-hwan would attend, Heo Kyung-hwan confessed, "I didn't receive an invitation." He added, "I wondered if there was a reason I wasn't invited. I felt a bit bitter, thinking I might look pathetic if I showed up uninvited and saw other celebrities there."

Heo Kyung-hwan continued, "Chef Lee Yeon-bok, who usually doesn't get involved in such matters, seemed puzzled and asked, 'Why wouldn't they?'" This led Chef Lee Yeon-bok to remark, "I wondered if there was some conflict between them that I didn't know about, or if something bad had happened," which drew laughter from the studio.

John Park apologized, saying, "I couldn't invite Eric and Minwoo either. So, Chef Lee Yeon-bok, please don't be too upset that you were the only one invited. If you get married later, Heo Kyung-hwan hyung, I will definitely attend."
