Comedian Lim La-ra Recounts Terrifying Postpartum Hemorrhage Ordeal: 'Thought I Was Going to Die'

Comedian and YouTuber Lim La-ra has bravely shared her harrowing experience with a severe postpartum hemorrhage, detailing the critical moments she faced after giving birth.

In a YouTube video released on the 'EnjoyCouple' channel on the 12th, Lim La-ra recounted her stay in the intensive care unit due to the emergency, followed by her emotional reunion with her newborn twins. "I never want to be in the ICU again. All I could do was look at the ceiling and pray," she shared, visibly moved.

Her husband, Son Min-soo, revealed the terrifying reality from his perspective: "Every time La-ra closed her eyes in the ambulance, I truly thought she was dying." Lim La-ra further elaborated on the physical and emotional toll, stating, "I had to undergo hemostasis without anesthesia. Enduring that while fully conscious was incredibly difficult. I don't want to think about it, let alone go back."

She expressed the confusion and fear she felt, adding, "While many recover healthily after childbirth, there are also those who struggle like me. During pregnancy, I avoided negative stories, but when something like this happens, you feel completely lost."

Son Min-soo highlighted the grim reality of the medical field, noting, "Apparently, there aren't many obstetricians equipped to handle emergencies like postpartum hemorrhages these days." Lim La-ra concluded by emphasizing the gravity of childbirth: "I was lucky to survive. Had I been unlucky, I could have died. I want people to know that childbirth is by no means a given or an easy task, and there are people like me who go through such ordeals."
