IVE's Jang Won-young Purchases Luxury Villa in Hannam-dong for $10 Million
Jang Won-young, a member of the popular K-pop girl group IVE, has reportedly purchased a luxury villa in the upscale Hannam-dong neighborhood of Seoul for a staggering 13.7 billion won (approximately $10 million USD).
According to real estate industry sources and official registry documents, Jang Won-young acquired a unit measuring 244 square meters (approximately 2,626 square feet) in the 'Lucid House' villa complex in March. The transaction is believed to have been made entirely with cash, as no mortgage liens were registered.
The seller is reportedly Lee Ji-yong, the former CEO of Daelim Trading and a second-generation heir of the DL Group conglomerate.
Jang Won-young's agency, Starship Entertainment, addressed the report, stating, "It is difficult to confirm personal matters, but we understand the villa is intended for her family to reside in together."
The luxury villa is situated in the prestigious UN Village area of Hannam-dong, offering panoramic views of both the Han River and Namsan Mountain. With only 15 exclusive units, the property boasts high scarcity. It features a 24-hour security system and private elevators, ensuring a high level of privacy. Notably, the building was previously home to actress Kim Tae-hee and singer Rain before their marriage.
Born in 2004, Jang Won-young first gained recognition through the Mnet survival show 'Produce 48' in 2018 as a member of IZ*ONE. She later debuted with IVE under Starship Entertainment and has since become a global icon. IVE recently concluded their second world tour, 'SHOW WHAT I AM.'
Netizens have reacted with a mix of admiration and support, commenting, 'Jang Won-young is truly talented and successful,' 'It's heartwarming to know she's buying a place for her family,' and 'Wishing her continued success in her career.'
