Musical theater star Ivy has revealed a surprising battle with stage fright, a condition she has been managing even as she solidifies her reputation as a prominent actress.

Appearing on the MBC entertainment show 'Radio Star' on the 12th, Ivy, who has returned with the musical 'Red Book,' joined her co-star Ji Hyun-woo.

During the broadcast, Ivy recalled her iconic role in the musical 'Chicago,' addressing a question about the ventriloquist scene. She clarified that she originated the complex facial performance for the character Roxie, stating, "I did 'Chicago' six times. In that scene, Roxie has to do ventriloquism, so I had to use my face a lot. The foreign staff told me, 'You're carrying it.'" She expressed pride in her performance during that particular scene.

However, Ivy confessed that amidst her rising fame in the musical world, a significant anxiety grew within her. "After playing bright, free, and intense roles, I took on the role of Aida in 2016. It's a dream role for female actresses, where a cheerful princess overcomes adversity to become a charismatic queen. But when I did it, I had to take medication for stage fright. In fact, I took my stage fright medication today as well," she revealed, astonishing the hosts and audience.

Netizens reacted with sympathy and admiration. Comments included, "It's heartbreaking to know Ivy has been dealing with stage fright," "It's amazing she delivers such powerful performances despite it," and "We'll continue to support her."
