Ji Hyun-woo Recalls 'Younger Man' Heyday on 'Radio Star', Reveals Passionate Kiss Scene with Go Doo-shim
Actor Ji Hyun-woo appeared on MBC's 'Radio Star', reminiscing about his peak popularity as the quintessential 'younger man' archetype.
Having sparked a 'younger man' craze with the KBS sitcom 'Old Miss Diary', Ji Hyun-woo shared how he juggled acting in dramas, hosting music shows, and his band activities with The Nuts, admitting he was constantly reviewing scripts in his car. He recalled his heyday, stating, "I was constantly looking at scripts in the car, and I even filmed commercials with Song Hye-kyo and Kim Tae-hee."
When asked about the actor with the biggest age gap he'd worked with, Ji Hyun-woo revealed it changed from Ye Ji-won to Go Doo-shim. He described their roles in a film about transcendent love between a Jeju haenyeo (female diver) and a documentary PD, even sharing behind-the-scenes details of an intimate cave kissing scene. Ji Hyun-woo passionately explained, "The first kiss scene was intense. I wanted her to look a bit more girlish, so I asked for another take."
The revealed movie scenes showcasing Go Doo-shim's youthful portrayal and Ji Hyun-woo's expressive love left the MCs and studio audience in awe.
Netizens reacted enthusiastically, commenting, "Ji Hyun-woo is truly the original 'younger man'!", "A kiss scene with Go Doo-shim is beyond imagination", and "He sets a new legend every time he appears on Radio Star," cheering for his performance.
