The Netflix series 'The Killer' is captivating viewers with its intense narrative. The realities faced by protagonists Eun-su (Jeon So-nee) and Hee-su (Lee Yoo-mi) are described as a living hell, leaving audiences feeling suffocated and filled with righteous anger.

The series tells the story of a woman who decides to murder her husband to escape a hellish existence. Based on the Japanese novel 'Naomi and Kanako,' the drama confronts the heavy theme of domestic violence head-on, delivering a profound impact.

Eun-su has lived with trauma since childhood, having witnessed her father's domestic violence. Even as an adult, she tries to ignore the recurring violence to protect her job. However, she eventually learns of the tragic suicide of a madam she served. Meanwhile, realizing that her close friend Hee-su is also suffering from her husband Noh Jin-pyo's (Jang Seung-jo) abuse, Eun-su plans to eliminate Noh Jin-pyo with Hee-su.

'The Killer' delicately portrays the suffering of domestic violence victims, their resistance, and their eventual submission. By minimizing scenes of physical violence and focusing on the characters' emotional arcs and psychological depiction, the series reduces visual discomfort and enhances the plausibility of the characters' actions.

The relationship between the two protagonists, who comfort each other's wounds and fill each other's voids, leaves a deep impression. Eun-su sees her mother in Hee-su and wishes to save her, while Hee-su is willing to risk her life for Eun-su, the only one who offered her a hand. Their story goes beyond simple revenge, showcasing their growth as they heal their individual scars and fulfill their deficiencies.

Jang Seung-jo, playing the domestic abuser Noh Jin-pyo, skillfully portrays the extreme duality of a perfect husband and a violent perpetrator, heightening the drama's immersion. Lee Yoo-mi also perfectly embodies the character of Hee-su with her unique style, drawing admiration from viewers. However, some critics point out that Jeon So-nee's presence as the protagonist Eun-su is relatively weak, and express disappointment that the latter half of the plot concludes somewhat hastily.

Netizens are reacting with comments like "Jeon So-nee and Lee Yoo-mi's acting is insane," "Looking forward to the chemistry between the two actresses," and "Jang Seung-jo's villain acting is chilling," raising anticipation for the drama.
