
Park Mi-sun Returns to TV After Breast Cancer Battle, Dons Short Hair with Pride
Veteran comedian Park Mi-sun has made a heartwarming return to television after a year-long battle with breast cancer, inspiring viewers with her courage and resilience.
She appeared confidently on camera with her hair newly shorn due to chemotherapy, prompting an outpouring of support from fellow celebrities.
On December 12th, Park Mi-sun shared on her social media, "I agonized over whether to go on, and whether to wear a wig. But so many people were curious and worried, so I gathered my courage and did the broadcast."
She added, "I talked about various things on 'You Quiz on the Block,' my first schedule this year. I'm a little worried since it's been a while, but thank you to everyone who was concerned."
During her appearance on tvN's 'You Quiz on the Block' that aired on the same day, Park Mi-sun candidly shared her one-year journey of fighting cancer. She revealed, "Breast cancer was discovered during a general health check-up." She continued, "I had surgery on December 24th last year, Christmas Eve. Metastasis to the lymph nodes was confirmed, so I had to undergo chemotherapy."
Despite the painful treatment, Park Mi-sun maintained her signature humor. Revealing her short hair, she quipped, "I was worried people would be shocked by my drastic look, but I came out bravely." She then laughed brightly, saying, "Doesn't it give me the vibe of a designer who studied abroad in Italy?"
Her courageous comeback received unified, fervent support from the entertainment industry. Comedic juniors, including Kim Ji-min, Kim Kyung-ah, Shim Jin-hwa, Park Hwi-soon, and Kim In-seok, expressed their respect with playful remarks like, "We missed you, senior!"
