Physicist Kim Sang-wook Reveals Near-Fatal Brush with Heart Attack on 'You Quiz on the Block'

Physicist Kim Sang-wook has shared the harrowing experience of being hospitalized in the ICU shortly before suffering a heart attack.

In a preview for the upcoming episode of tvN's 'You Quiz on the Block,' aired on the 12th, Professor Kim discussed his recent health scare, drawing significant attention.

"I thought it was just indigestion or a stomach issue," Professor Kim recounted. "When I went to the hospital, they told me I was on the verge of a myocardial infarction. I could have been here today... or not."

When asked about his condition post-stent procedure, he revealed, "Lying in the ICU, I found myself wondering, 'What exactly *is* a stent procedure?'" Host Yoo Jae-suk's surprised reaction, asking, "Was that your biggest concern?" elicited laughter from the viewers.

Previously, Professor Kim disclosed on his personal Facebook in September that he had visited the emergency room during the Chuseok holiday and was admitted to the ICU. He underwent an emergency cardiovascular stent procedure, describing it as an amazing technique where a wire is inserted to place a support inside the blood vessel.

He added, "The doctor said even if a heart attack had occurred, there would have been nothing they could do. The procedure went well, and I'm recovering quickly."

Kim Sang-wook, a professor of physics at Kyung Hee University, is well-known for his appearances on various science and infotainment programs, including the 'Amusing Scientific Encyclopedia' series and 'Friday Night.'

The episode of 'You Quiz on the Block' featuring Professor Kim is scheduled to air on the 19th at 8:45 PM.
