Kim Joon-ho's 'Baem-gi' Gaffe Amuses Kim Ji-min, Couple Reveals 2nd Child Prep Update

Comedian Kim Ji-min shared a humorous anecdote about her husband Kim Joon-ho's slip of the tongue, revealing their earnest preparations for having a second child.

The recent episode of the YouTube channel 'Joon-ho Ji-min' featured a segment titled 'Let Me Give You a Meal~stress,' with guest comedians Han Yoon-seo and Park So-young, who are close friends of Kim Ji-min.

Park So-young shared that she is currently documenting her IVF preparation process on YouTube. She mentioned, "We initially tried for natural pregnancy, but started going to the hospital in April. The doctor tells us 'try on this date,' and it truly feels like homework."

Kim Ji-min empathized deeply, responding, "It's hard to concentrate when you're told to do it on a specific day. It eventually feels like a chore, which makes it even harder."

She then recalled a moment when Kim Joon-ho brought up the topic of pregnancy preparation out of the blue. "Oppa Joon-ho seriously told me, 'Let's start preparing for a baby too,'" Kim Ji-min revealed, laughing. "Then he asked, 'Isn't there a specific time when a woman can get pregnant? When is your 'baem-gi'?" she exclaimed, explaining that he mistook 'ovulation period' for 'embezzlement period' ('baem-gi' in Korean sounds similar to 'ba-ran-gi' for ovulation and 'hyeong-ryeong/bae-im' for embezzlement).

Park So-young and Han Yoon-seo inquired if the couple was taking nutritional supplements, advising that preparation should ideally begin at least three months prior. Kim Ji-min also reportedly told Kim Joon-ho to "quickly take this to heart."

This isn't the first time the couple has discussed starting a family. Kim Joon-ho and Kim Ji-min, who went public with their relationship in 2022 and married in July, had previously announced on a TV show their intention to "seriously start preparing for a second child from December 1st."

At the time, Kim Joon-ho had said, "We decided to enjoy our newlywed life without nagging until November 30th, drinking and golfing. Ji-min wants to conceive naturally, so I'm exercising and we're discussing various things."

Kim Joon-ho's recent 'baem-gi' remark, though a minor incident in their preparation journey, has captured fans' attention as a sign that the couple has officially entered 'natural pregnancy preparation mode.'
