HYBE's New Band Destino Unveils Romantic Single 'Algo para siempre,' Celebrating True Love
HYBE Latin America's emerging band, Destino, has captivated global fans with the release of their romantic new single, ‘Algo para siempre (Something Forever),’ on the 14th (KST).
The song, translating to ‘Something Forever’ in English, features a harmonious blend of percussion, bass, guitar, and accordion, creating a deeply romantic atmosphere. Its lyrics eloquently explore the essence of true love and the enduring nature of relationships through the passage of time. The members shared, “We wanted to create a song about true love that isn't perfect, but is built together every day.”
The music video for ‘Algo para siempre’ was directed by Latin Grammy nominee Camila Grandi. It uniquely incorporates fans who participated directly, showcasing them enjoying Destino’s performance alongside their own ‘Something Forever.’ The video tenderly depicts various forms of love, including familial affection, friendship, and devotion to pets, warming the hearts of viewers. Additionally, seven sincere interview segments with the members will be uploaded to Destino's official YouTube channel.
Destino was formed through ‘Pase a la Fama,’ the first-ever band audition program jointly produced by HYBE Latin America and US Spanish-language broadcaster Telemundo. Based in northern Mexico, they reinterpreted Norteño music with a modern sensibility. The band secured third place in the program, earning recognition for their talent and charm before signing with HYBE for their official debut.
HYPE Latin America and S1ENTO Records introduced Destino as a group that “mixes tradition, youth, and a new musical narrative to create innovative music.”
The band comprises six members, each bringing diverse backgrounds and experiences to forge a unique musical identity. Luis, the vocalist, has been active in bands since age 15. Alan, who plays various instruments including percussion and drums, now performs the bajo quinto. Bassist Juan quit his job of ten years, driven by his unwavering passion for music. Guitarist José was influenced by his great-grandfather, a composer, while Felipe is an accordionist from Monterrey. Drummer Martín began his musical journey in a family band.
Prior to its official release, Destino first performed ‘Algo para siempre’ at Mexico’s major music festival, ‘Festival ARRE,’ in September, receiving an enthusiastic response. This festival is a leading Latin American music event featuring prominent artists like Fuerza Regida, Eslabón Armado, and Grupo Firme. At the festival, Destino left a lasting impression with a performance demonstrating a maturity and quality beyond that of a rookie group. They are also scheduled to perform at the ‘Bendito Rodeo’ festival in Mexico on the 22nd.
HYBE is expanding its influence by transplanting its K-pop production system into the global music market under Chairman Bang Si-hyuk's 'Multi-home, Multi-genre' strategy. HYBE Latin America was established in 2023, acquiring the local label Exile Music and actively pursuing new artist development projects. Through the reality program 'SANTOS BRAVOS,' a five-member boyband of the same name debuted on October 21st, and promising new artists like 'Pase a la Fama' winner Musza and Low Clika have been discovered.
