Roy Kim Makes a Splash on 'The Manager,' Wins Debut Episode with Yuzu Dongchimi

Roy Kim, making his first appearance on the KBS 2TV variety show 'The Manager' (hereinafter referred to as 'Pyeonstorang'), clinched victory in his debut episode, showcasing a unique 'Yuzu Dongchimi'.

The episode, aired on the 14th, revealed the winner of the 'Kimchi' themed cooking competition.

Competitors Lee Jung-hyun presented 'Orange Kkakdugi,' while Kim Jae-joong offered his special 'Seasoned Kimchi.' In contrast, Roy Kim, a newcomer to 'Pyeonstorang,' unveiled his innovative 'Yuzu Dongchimi.' He explained, "My menu is Yuzu Dongchimi. Using kkakdugi (ponytail radish kimchi) maximizes the chewy texture, and I added yuzu preserves for a harmonious blend of tartness and sweetness."

Experts who tasted his dongchimi were impressed. "The dongchimi broth is clear, yet possesses a profound sourness. Every sip feels like a delightful new discovery with the yuzu chunks," they exclaimed.

Roy Kim proudly stated, "Koreans love refreshing and cool flavors. Just like how people crave kimchi after eating something greasy, I believe my dongchimi will serve that purpose."

Meanwhile, chef Lee Yeon-bok was seen devouring the dongchimi, prompting Boom to humorously ask, "Did you come here from a rest stop?" Lee commented, "It's almost like cheating. The unstoppable freshness pairs incredibly well with noodles. It would be delicious with anything."

Kangnam also drank the broth heartily, adding, "It really cools me down. I feel hungry even after eating. It's like a natural digestive."

In a close competition, Roy Kim emerged as the winner, receiving the trophy. He expressed his gratitude, stating, "Thank you. This is my first time on 'Pyeonstorang,' and I'm so happy to achieve this result."
