New Boy Group 'Air100' Reveals Tentative Name, Trainee Ha Min-gi Joins Amidst Controversy
Modenberry Korea has unveiled the tentative name and logo for their upcoming boy group, set to debut in the latter half of next year, sparking excitement among fans.
The group's tentative name, 'Air100', is a combination of 'Air' and '100', signifying their ambition to 'fill the world with 100% pure energy'. The group is planned to be a 7-member unit, with individual member content to be released sequentially.
Notably, the inclusion of trainee Ha Min-gi has garnered significant attention. Known for his striking visuals and impressive height of 185cm, Ha Min-gi previously became a trending topic with nicknames like 'Tteok-sue-jeo' (rice cake chaebol) and 'Chaebol-dol' (chaebol idol) due to his alleged connection to the founder's family of 'Shinjeon Tteokbokki'.
However, a controversy arose when the company refuted the claim. Modenberry Korea later clarified that Ha Min-gi is indeed the founder's grandson and the representative's nephew, apologizing for the confusion caused by an error in initial promotional materials.
In a YouTube interview, Ha Min-gi emphasized his desire to be recognized for his skills rather than his background, sharing his journey of over 200 auditions. He also revealed he persuaded his parents, who initially had concerns, to support his dream and expressed his aspiration to be an artist evaluated by his music and performances.
Moving past the 'Tteok-sue-jeo controversy', Ha Min-gi is poised for a fresh start as a member of 'Air100'. All eyes are on whether he will prove his true talent on stage with 100% passion, just as the group's name suggests.
Fans are reacting positively to Ha Min-gi's involvement, with comments like "Finally debuting officially! Looking forward to it," and "Curious to see his performances based on skill," and "Don't worry about the controversy, just show us your best!"
