
Disney+ Unveils 2025 Lineup with Stars Lee Dong-wook, Jung Woo-sung; Eyes on Korean Market
Disney+ is gearing up for a major push into the Asian market, particularly South Korea, with a star-studded lineup for its 2025 content slate. The streaming giant revealed its ambitious plans at the 'Disney+ Originals Preview 2025' event held at the Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel on November 13.
The event, attended by over 400 media and industry professionals from 14 Asia-Pacific countries, served as a platform to showcase Disney's global strategy and upcoming productions. Celebrities Lee Dong-wook and Jung Woo-sung were present, alongside Luke Kang, President of The Walt Disney Company Asia Pacific.
Kang emphasized Disney's commitment to the region, stating, "This year marks our fifth anniversary of content production in the Asia-Pacific region. We are excited to present ambitious new works and diverse genres on Disney+."
He specifically highlighted the potential of Korean storytelling, noting, "Korean stories resonate with audiences worldwide. We plan to offer an even richer lineup next year. Our stories will inspire, connect, and immerse viewers across generations, ages, genders, and regions."
The 2026 content slate includes highly anticipated titles such as 'Knights of Sidonia' (Doh Kyung-soo), 'The Litle Red Shop Season 2' (Lee Dong-wook), 'War of Fate', 'Remarried Empress', 'Goldland', 'The Vengeance', 'Made in Korea' (Jung Woo-sung), and 'Is This Okay 2'.
Doh Kyung-soo shared his excitement about challenging a new character in 'Knights of Sidonia', while Jung Woo-sung described 'Made in Korea' as a unique story blending historical events with fictional characters, focusing on human desire and inner conflict. Lee Dong-wook expressed confidence that 'The Little Red Shop Season 2' will surpass the first season in scale and action.
