Ailee Reveals 'Instinctive Distrust' Towards Husband Choi Si-hoon's Cooking: 'Is That Krill Extract? Smells Unfamiliar'
Singer Ailee has revealed her instinctive distrust towards her husband Choi Si-hoon's cooking.
A video titled "One Month Before Concert, Ailee Couple's 24-Hour Close-Up Vlog" was uploaded on the 'Ailee's Wedding Diary' channel on the 15th.
On this day, Choi Si-hoon was cooking chicken breast fried rice for Ailee to eat together. He explained, "I won't add much seasoning because we're dieting, but I heard adding krill extract enhances the umami taste."
Ailee, however, expressed suspicion, saying she had never seen krill extract before. Seeing Choi Si-hoon add it without measuring, she intervened, "Honey, please use a measuring spoon! Aren't you adding too much?" she asked, adding, "But are you supposed to add krill extract when you're adding meat?" showing a doubtful reaction.
Choi Si-hoon confidently said, "Don't worry. You go over there," but then glanced around nervously. When Ailee asked, "Why are you looking around?" he showed a lack of confidence, saying, "The krill extract smells unfamiliar?"
Ailee also pointed out, "I can smell a fishy scent from here," and when the PD asked, "Is this your first time doing this?" Choi Si-hoon quietly nodded.
Ailee then requested understanding, saying, "We are real. We are newlyweds, aren't we? It's a process of learning and creating together, growing together, so please understand."
She reiterated her suspicion, asking, "Is this really krill? The krill smell is so strong," to which Choi Si-hoon repeatedly responded, "Don't worry. You go over there."
When Ailee asked if he would taste it, Choi Si-hoon waved his hands, repeatedly saying, "Don't worry."
He expressed his hurt, saying, "You know, my wife has this weird lack of trust in what I say. If a passerby says, 'Oh, is that so?' she'll believe them. Why is that?" Ailee then tried to build rapport by asking, "Do you all do that too? My fellow wives. Do you wives also distrust your husband's words at first?"
Choi Si-hoon honestly confessed, "I tend to talk as if I know 10 things even if I only know 1 out of 10." Ailee then initiated, "What did you tell me yesterday?" Choi Si-hoon replied, "I said white hair is a sign of fighting cancer cells." Amidst the murmuring production crew, Ailee revealed, "When I asked, 'Who said that?', he replied, 'Instagram.' Do you know what I mean, everyone? But I'm the same. I always see something from somewhere else and say, 'Honey, this is what they say~'" causing laughter.
Meanwhile, Ailee married Choi Si-hoon in August of last year.
Netizens commented, "Ailee is so realistic," "Her husband is so cute when he talks, but I understand Ailee's reaction," and "They really seem like newlyweds. It's heartwarming to see them learn and grow together." Many expressed empathy and support for the couple's candid portrayal.
