Lee Hyo-ri Calls Out On-Set Diva Behavior: 'Convert Hardship Into Laughter'
Singer Lee Hyo-ri has delivered a sharp critique of diva-like behavior and entitled attitudes from artists and juniors on set.
On the 15th, a video titled "Honest Review of Just Makeup with Hyo-ri [Episodes 7-10]" was uploaded to the YouTube channel 'Hong's MakeuPlay'.
In the video, Lee Hyo-ri, alongside makeup artists Hong Hyun-jung and Jung Saem-mool, reviewed episodes of the Coupang Play makeup survival show 'Just Makeup,' sharing her candid reactions.
Observing a makeup look that emphasized eyelashes, Lee Hyo-ri remarked, "I even saw the teary effect as part of the makeup." She added, "This makeup would look stunning for a photoshoot."
However, she playfully demonstrated throwing off false eyelashes, humorously suggesting, "If someone like me meets this, I'd endure it at first, then exclaim 'Aish!' and throw them off." When others joined in the role-play, Lee Hyo-ri clarified, "No, it's okay. Even if it's tough, if the monitor shot looks good, I'll endure it. Even if I cry tears of blood."
She continued with another playful gesture of discarding the lashes, saying, "If tears are falling and the monitor shot isn't good, then..." before laughing and adding, "Just kidding."
Lee Hyo-ri then shared her firm beliefs about on-set conduct. "There's absolutely no benefit to being irritable or acting haughty on set. The moment the atmosphere turns hostile, there's nothing that will benefit me," she stated. "To artists and juniors alike, no matter how unpleasant or difficult things are, you must think about how to skillfully convert that into laughter and change the situation. There's nothing in it for you to act that way."
Korean netizens reacted positively to her remarks, with comments such as "Hyo-ri unnie still speaks her mind like always!", "Teaching proper set etiquette", and "I want to be inspired by her professionalism even when things are tough."
