Millie Bobby Brown Clashes With Photographer Over 'Smile' Demand at 'Stranger Things 5' Premiere
Millie Bobby Brown, the star of Netflix's mega-hit series 'Stranger Things', made headlines after a brief verbal exchange with a photographer on the red carpet in London, Daily Mail reported on the 15th (local time).
According to the report, Brown attended the premiere of 'Stranger Things' Season 5 (the final season) held at the Odeon Luxe Leicester Square in London on the 14th (local time). When a photographer yelled "Smile!" at her, Brown retorted, "Smile? You smile!" and quickly walked off the carpet. The scene was captured and quickly went viral on social media.
Reactions on social media were divided. Some criticized, "Celebrities are so sensitive these days," while others defended her, saying, "She's only 21 and a young mother who's handled child-rearing and marriage. We should be a bit more understanding."
Brown married Jake Bongiovi, son of Jon Bon Jovi of the Jonas Brothers, in May last year. Earlier this summer, the couple became parents through adoption. This red carpet event marked her first official appearance since becoming a mother.
However, the tension surrounding the premiere wasn't limited to this incident. Recently, controversy arose as Brown reportedly filed a complaint against co-star David Harbour regarding alleged "harassment" and "bullying." According to The Mail on Sunday, Harbour underwent an internal investigation that lasted several months. Fortunately, it was reported that there were no instances of sexual discrimination or inappropriate behavior.
Despite the circumstances, both Brown and Harbour smiled and posed naturally on the red carpet, easing the tension at the event.
For the premiere, Brown sported a mature look in a black lace off-the-shoulder dress, with her newly dyed red hair elegantly swept up. Harbour, on the other hand, appeared in a classic pinstripe suit, maintaining his signature mustache.
Season 5 of 'Stranger Things' is set for an unconventional release. The first four episodes will drop on November 26th, followed by three more on Christmas Day (December 25th), concluding with a "cinematic finale" released simultaneously in theaters and on Netflix.
A Netflix insider stated, "Nothing can get in the way of the show's finale, and that includes the personal lives of our lead actors."
Netizens are divided, with some stating, "She's so young and has already gone through marriage and motherhood, so we should be understanding," while others criticize, "Isn't it a bit too sensitive for a public occasion?" Many supportive comments like "Can't wait for the final season!" and "Millie Bobby Brown, fighting!" are also being posted.
