Bae Jung-nam Receives Foreboding Prophecy About 'Tears of Bad Luck' and Lingering Grief Over Beloved Pet 'Bell' on 'My Little Old Boy'
During a recent episode of SBS's 'My Little Old Boy' (My Ugly Duckling), a shaman's poignant words regarding actor and model Bae Jung-nam's late pet dog, Bell, captured viewers' attention.
In the broadcast aired on the 16th, Bae Jung-nam and model Han Hye-jin visited a shaman for a fortune-telling session.
The shaman, addressing Bae Jung-nam (born March 1983), delivered a concerning prophecy: “This year is Samjae (three years of misfortune), and next year is the year of tears.” This struck a chord with Bae Jung-nam, who had recently experienced immense sorrow after losing his beloved companion, Bell, treating the dog like family.
"Do I have to cry again next year?" he expressed, his heart heavy with the thought.
Observing Bae Jung-nam, the shaman remarked, “He is a man filled with sorrow. His fortune is like a deep-seated nail in his heart,” delving into his childhood. Bae Jung-nam, who was raised by his grandmother, confirmed this.
"Even with parents present, his fate involves separation, and he always yearns for one parent. He was born to give his parents away and serve others' parents," the shaman explained.
When the shaman noted, “You are quite wicked. You lived desperately just to survive. You're the type who couldn't even cry out in pain when hurt,” Bae Jung-nam candidly confessed, “I pretended to be stronger because I didn't want to appear weak. I always endured to hide my vulnerability."
However, the shaman offered a glimmer of hope, stating, “Your flow will change significantly starting this year. After this year passes, all the bad luck will be gone. The deaths around you have taken your misfortune,” subtly referring to Bell’s passing.
"Starting next year, a 10-year great fortune will begin. Your business and financial luck will also open up significantly," the shaman forecasted.
To everyone's surprise, the shaman then revealed Bae Jung-nam still kept Bell's fur at home. "You still have the dog's fur at home? Bury it and send it off. The child is appearing in the afterlife saying they are still sick," the shaman advised.
Bae Jung-nam admitted, “I wanted to keep a small memento. Letting go is not easy,” but the shaman reassured him, “The child took all the bad energy when they left. To help your dog pass peacefully on its final journey, it’s best to send off the fur," offering comfort to Bae Jung-nam's lingering pain.
Korean netizens expressed deep sympathy, commenting, "Bae Jung-nam must be heartbroken," "Bell has gone to a better place. Stay strong!" and "Like the shaman said, perhaps Bell took the bad luck away with them." Many offered words of support and comfort.
