Jang Dong-ju Parts Ways with Nexus E&M, Becomes a Free Agent

Actor Jang Dong-ju has concluded his exclusive contract with his former agency, Nexus E&M, and is now a free agent.

OSEN exclusively learned on the 17th that Jang Dong-ju's contract with Nexus E&M has ended, making him available to sign with a new agency. He had initially signed with Nexus E&M, which also represents artists like Song Ji-hyo and Lee Ho-won, in March of this year.

Jang Dong-ju, who debuted in the 2017 KBS2 drama ‘School 2017’, has honed his acting skills across various theater productions, dramas, and films. He left a strong impression in the 2019 OCN series ‘Class of Lies’ with his mature performance as Kim Han-soo, a student wrongly accused of murder.

His notable works include dramas such as ‘Criminal Minds’, ‘My Strange Hero’, ‘Let Me Be Your Knight’, and ‘Trigger’, as well as films like ‘Honest Candidate’, ‘Count’, and ‘Handsome Guys’.

Notably, Jang Dong-ju gained attention in 2021 for witnessing a hit-and-run drunk driving accident and apprehending the perpetrator himself, earning him the nickname 'Hero Actor' for his good deed. More recently, he caused concern among fans by briefly disappearing from social media after posting only the word 'Sorry', but his whereabouts were confirmed within four hours.

Looking ahead, Jang Dong-ju is set to star alongside Lomon and Kim Hye-yoon in the upcoming SBS drama ‘I Shall Become Human’, scheduled to air in 2026.
