The Harry Media, a company specializing in K-short dramas, is officially kicking off its strategic moves to penetrate the Chinese market with Korean-style short dramas.

On the 16th, The Harry Media announced that ahead of the official launch of the Chinese version of its dedicated platform for the Chinese market, ZIPPYBOX, in the first half of 2026, they have signed multifaceted business agreements with major Chinese platform developers. Furthermore, they have initiated the establishment of a collaborative content ecosystem between Korea and China through a series of partnership contracts with prominent Chinese production companies.

To facilitate this business expansion, the company has officially established a media content & platform corporation in China, Nanjing Xingyao Harry Media Co., Ltd. (南京星邀哈瑞传媒有限公司).

Prior to the official release of ZIPPYBOX in China, The Harry Media signed a comprehensive business agreement with Harbin Qingniu Wangge Technology Co., Ltd. (哈尔滨青牛网给科技有限公司), a partner company of Douyin (TikTok in China). This collaboration marks a significant turning point for The Harry Media's entry into the Chinese video platform ecosystem, covering content distribution, marketing, and user acquisition.

Leveraging Douyin's vast user base, service expertise, and content collaboration opportunities, The Harry Media anticipates accelerating the successful launch of the Chinese version of ZIPPYBOX.

Moreover, The Harry Media has established an integrated production collaboration system for Korean short dramas entering the Chinese market. They have joined forces with Western Film Group Co., Ltd. (西部电影集团有限公司), China's leading state-owned production company, known for nurturing directors like Zhang Yimou and Chen Kaige. This partnership will foster joint projects involving Korean writers, directors, and actors alongside Chinese production staff, creating a comprehensive framework for the production and distribution of K-short dramas tailored for the Chinese market.

A representative from The Harry Media stated, "We aim to open a new market for Korean-style K-short dramas in China by merging Korea's emotional storytelling, directing, and audiovisual competitiveness with China's specialized short drama production infrastructure."

The company plans to actively pursue an ecosystem for K-short drama development, collaborating with Korean writers, directors, and production teams for content to be showcased in the massive Chinese market.

Recently, the Chinese short drama market has seen rapid growth, with individual works achieving hundreds of millions to billions of views. The Harry Media believes that Korean storytelling and unique sensibility will resonate strongly with both Chinese Gen Z and Millennial audiences. They anticipate this collaborative model will transcend the boundaries of the Korean-Chinese content industry, becoming a new benchmark for cultural exchange and global expansion.

Korean netizens are reacting positively to the news, with comments like "Finally, K-short dramas are about to conquer China too!" and "I hope this becomes a bridge for cultural exchange between the two countries." Many expressed excitement, saying "Can't wait to watch!"
