Jin Seon-kyu Promises 'Tet-Nam' Transformation in 'UDT: Our Neighborhood Special Forces'
Actor Jin Seon-kyu is raising anticipation by hinting at a transformation into the unique character 'Tet-Nam'.
The press conference for the Coupang Play X Genie TV original series 'UDT: Our Neighborhood Special Forces' was held on the 17th at the Pullman Ambassador Seoul East Pole in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul. The event was attended by main cast members including Yoon Kye-sang, Jin Seon-kyu, Kim Ji-hyun, Ko Kyu-pil, Lee Jung-ha, and director Jo Woong.
'UDT: Our Neighborhood Special Forces' is a story that follows the delightful and thrilling exploits of reserve special forces who band together not to protect the country or world peace, but solely for their families and neighborhoods.
In the series, Jin Seon-kyu plays 'Kwak Byeong-nam', a former counter-terrorism unit member who now runs a hardware store and stationery shop in Changri-dong, serving as the neighborhood association president. While appearing ordinary on the surface, he rediscovers his past charisma in moments of crisis, becoming a 'neighborhood guardian'.
Regarding his character portrayal, Jin Seon-kyu stated, "I wanted to show more of a 'Tet-Nam' vibe rather than the usual 'nice guy' image I've always portrayed." He continued, "I grew a beard, changed my hairstyle, and strived to create a character who feels comfortable and trustworthy, someone who could be found anywhere in the neighborhood."
He also shared his thoughts during filming, saying, "While shooting this drama, I truly realized the hard work of our neighborhood's self-defense patrol members. Thanks to them, we can move around more safely, and it made me think I should be more diligent with recycling from now on."
With Jin Seon-kyu's new transformation and an exciting storyline, 'UDT: Our Neighborhood Special Forces' is set to premiere on Coupang Play on the 24th.
