Shin Dong-yeop Recalls 25-Year Friendship with Jeon In-kwon: 'Thanks to Him, I Went on Stage During a Difficult Time'
Entertainer Shin Dong-yeop looked back on his 25-year friendship with singer Jeon In-kwon, candidly sharing stories from a difficult past.
A video titled 'The Legend's Return, Forever Circling [Zzanhanhyung EP.119] #JeonInKwon #ShinDongYeop #JungHoChul #KimJunHyun' was uploaded to the YouTube channel 'Zzanhanhyung' on the 17th.
In the video, Shin Dong-yeop recalled 1999, a period when he had temporarily halted his broadcasting activities due to marijuana use charges. "It was a really difficult time for me back then," he said cautiously.
He continued with a laugh, "That winter, Jeon In-kwon held a concert at the Seoul Arts Center, and I went to see it. While I was among the fans, he suddenly announced, 'My beloved younger brother Shin Dong-yeop is here,' and I ended up going on stage to say hello."
Jeon In-kwon responded with a chuckle, "Honestly, your marijuana charges at the time made the story flow more naturally." He also added, referring to Shin Dong-yeop's playful remark, "If you matured after one incident, how much would I have matured after experiencing it four times?" Shin Dong-yeop's witty response left him unable to retort, filling the set with laughter. Jeon In-kwon recalled the moment fondly, saying, "That story is so funny."
Korean netizens reacted positively to the candid sharing, with comments such as, "It's good to see Shin Dong-yeop's sincere side," "I hope the warm friendship with Jeon In-kwon lasts a long time," and "The Zzanhanhyung channel always features legendary episodes."
