Actress Hong Jin-hee Captures Younger Fans with Fiery Curses on 'Sal sal Pasha'
Actress Hong Jin-hee has garnered a new fanbase among younger viewers with her refreshingly blunt curses on the KBS2 variety show 'Sal sal Pasha' (also known as 'Unni's Salad Bar').
In the episode aired on the 17th, guest Seo Kyung-seok joined hosts Park Won-sook, Hye Eun-yi, Hong Jin-hee, and Hwang Suk-jung for an autumn outing in Buyeo.
The cast transformed into Baekje warriors, dedicating time to practicing traditional Korean martial arts and swordsmanship. Hye Eun-yi, who had expressed interest in learning Tai Chi five years prior, showed her potential, while Hwang Suk-jung impressed with her agile execution of the Praying Mantis Fist technique. After learning various traditional martial arts, including double-sword dances, the four women donned Baekje-style attire and successfully cut bamboo with real swords, showcasing their honed skills.
Following their martial arts training, the group visited a traditional culture university dedicated to preserving history. Hye Eun-yi playfully spread a false rumor about Park Won-sook giving a lecture, leading to a lighthearted warning. While exploring the campus, Hong Jin-hee inquired about modern dating culture among the students, expressing a hint of romantic excitement.
On their way to the student cafeteria, Hong Jin-hee and Hye Eun-yi asked some 25-year-old students if they recognized them. Upon mentioning her role in the movie 'Sunny', the students recognized Hong Jin-hee. In a moment of playful honesty, Hong Jin-hee declared, “Want me to curse at you?”, letting out a string of curses that brought laughter to everyone. This candid display of her personality offered a refreshing charm to younger fans, helping her secure a new audience.
Korean netizens reacted positively, commenting things like 'Actress Hong Jin-hee is so honest, I love it!' and 'Even her curses are charming.' Many also expressed excitement for the show, anticipating it might hit its highest ratings.
