aespa Celebrates 5th Debut Anniversary; Winter Absent from Concert Due to Flu Symptoms
K-pop powerhouse aespa is marking their 5th debut anniversary, albeit with a bittersweet note. The group, which debuted on November 17, 2020, has solidified its status as a top-tier girl group with hit tracks like 'Black Mamba,' 'Next Level,' 'Savage,' 'Supernova,' and 'Armageddon.'
To commemorate their five years, aespa released a special digital single, 'aespa 2025 Special Digital Single - SYNK: Axis Line,' featuring solo tracks from each member. These songs were previously performed during aespa's third solo concert, offering a special treat for their fans.
However, on their anniversary day, a disappointing announcement revealed that member Winter would be unable to attend the concert due to flu-like symptoms. SM Entertainment stated, 'Winter visited the hospital after yesterday's performance and was diagnosed with cold and flu-like symptoms. Following the doctor's recommendation for ample rest, it was determined difficult for her to participate in the scheduled sound check event and concert.'
Despite her absence from the stage, Winter shared her gratitude with fans by holding a 5th-anniversary cake with her fellow members. A photo shared on aespa's official social media accounts showed the members enjoying a celebration. Winter, in the picture, was seen wearing a thick coat and a mask, even indoors, which evoked concern and sympathy from fans.
Meanwhile, aespa is currently continuing their world tour, '2025 aespa LIVE TOUR - SYNK:aeXIS LINE.'
Fans expressed their well wishes, commenting, 'Get well soon, Winter!', 'It's a shame she couldn't be there for the 5th anniversary,' and 'Thank you for the photos anyway! We hope she can join for the next concert!'
