AI Hoaxer Behind Lee Yi-kyung Scandal Deletes Social Media After Flip-Flop, Actor Bears Brunt of Damage

The scandal involving actor Lee Yi-kyung's private life, which seemed to be fading, has resurfaced due to the perpetrator's (referred to as A) change in stance.

Initially, A confessed to using AI to fabricate details of Lee Yi-kyung's private life, apologizing for the act. However, A later posted on social media, retracting the confession and claiming, "The AI was a lie," further fueling confusion. Although A eventually deleted their social media account, actor Lee Yi-kyung suffered significant damage to his reputation among fans and the public throughout this ordeal.

As a consequence of this controversy, Lee Yi-kyung was removed from his position as a new MC for KBS2's 'The Return of Superman' and also departed from MBC's 'How Do You Play?'. He had initially been anticipated as a new MC for 'The Return of Superman,' a role that would have been significant given the show's history of not featuring single male actors as hosts. However, due to the scandal, the position was ultimately filled by Kim Jong-min of Koyote.
