Actress Shim Eun-woo Signs with Management Nangman, Gears Up for Comeback with Theater and Film Roles
Actress Shim Eun-woo is officially embarking on her acting journey after signing an exclusive contract with Management Nangman.
Management Nangman announced the exclusive contract on the 18th, stating, "We will wholeheartedly support and walk alongside her as she has steadfastly pursued her path as an actress through many years, and we will continue to do so in the future."
This exclusive contract marks Shim Eun-woo's return to the spotlight. Instead of rushing due to her hiatus, she chose a period to "return to the basics." She is currently immersed in theater rehearsals, honing her acting senses and fundamental skills.
She is set to meet audiences on stage this December through the play 'Childhood Reverie' (Donghwa Donggyeong). This production was selected for the 2025 Korea Arts Council's 'Arts Support for Children and Youth' and sensuously depicts the poignant and delicate world of a boy and girl facing the flames before a brazier and soot beneath a chimney.
'Childhood Reverie' received critical acclaim in the 2013 Hankook Ilbo New Year's Literary Contest, praised for "poetically insight into the source of an absurd world and solitude through fairy-tale characters, events, and stage."
Shim Eun-woo is expected to reaffirm her stage presence by portraying the emotional nuances of her character with exquisite and dense expression. Furthermore, she will continue her screen activities by appearing in the independent film 'Wet'. 'Wet' is a winner of the 2025 Gyeongnam Culture and Arts Promotion Agency's Youth New Director Production Contest, tracing the journey of a character named Hye-seon as she recalls her lost friend Yoon-su and delves into the traces of memory and emotion.
In the role of the protagonist Hye-seon, Shim Eun-woo is anticipated to deeply portray the character's inner world with her signature delicate emotional acting. Previously, Shim Eun-woo left a lasting impression on viewers with her meticulous expression and strong presence in various works such as the dramas 'Navillera', 'Love Scene Number#', and 'The World of the Married', as well as the film 'The Day I Died'. Having broadly expanded her acting spectrum across genres, she is expected to continue a more solid path with this new contract.
Netizens expressed excitement, commenting, "So happy to hear Shim Eun-woo is back!", "Hoping for great activities with her new agency!", and "Looking forward to both the play and the movie!"
