Jung Hae-in's Wax Figure to Be Unveiled First Globally at Madame Tussauds Hong Kong

Madame Tussauds Hong Kong, part of Merlin Entertainments, has announced that it will be the first location worldwide to unveil a wax figure of actor Jung Hae-in.

The unveiling is scheduled for December and will be featured in the K-Wave Zone, making Jung Hae-in the first actor to have a wax figure displayed there, following K-pop idols.

Jung Hae-in, who celebrated his 10th debut anniversary last year, gained significant attention for his romantic portrayal alongside Son Ye-jin in the drama ‘Something in the Rain’. He has since proven his acting prowess and charm, earning strong support from his fans, known as ‘Haeini’s’.

His acting talent has been recognized at various awards ceremonies, including the Seoul Awards, APAN Star Awards, and the Asia Academy Creative Awards. Recently, he achieved a remarkable feat by winning both the Popular Star Award and the Best Supporting Actor award at the 45th Blue Dragon Film Awards for his role in the movie ‘Veteran 2’.

The wax figure project came about as Madame Tussauds Hong Kong proposed the collaboration to reciprocate the immense fan support, especially following the recent success of his drama ‘A-cha, Son of My Mother’, which achieved high viewership ratings. Jung Hae-in readily accepted the offer, leading to the realization of this special project.

During the meticulous measurement process, which took approximately five hours in Korea, Jung Hae-in maintained his signature bright smile. He shared his excitement, stating, “It is a truly wonderful experience to have my wax figure displayed at Madame Tussauds Hong Kong. I never imagined I would become a part of such a famous landmark. I hope my wax figure can convey warm and positive energy to fans worldwide.”

Wade Chang, General Manager of Merlin Entertainments Hong Kong, commented, “Madame Tussauds Hong Kong continuously strives to enhance the K-Wave Zone experience. Actor Jung Hae-in's authenticity and professionalism, evident in his performances, were also apparent throughout this collaboration. His participation will significantly contribute to revitalizing local tourism and spreading Asian culture.”

The wax figure will join other Hallyu stars like Lee Jong-suk and Suzy in the Korean Star Zone, enriching the attraction.

Korean netizens are showing explosive reactions, commenting, 'He finally did it!', 'Actor Hae-in, who looks more like a doll than a doll itself,' and 'I have to see it when I go to Hong Kong!'. Many are also expressing their excitement, saying, 'I'm already looking forward to seeing how it turns out.'
